Here is a delightful little 1967 Austin Mini 1000 for sale.
A very late example of the Mk1 - produced 1959 - 1967
This specific car was shipped over to South Africa where it spent its life with its 4 very caring and enthusiastic owners up until 2019 when it was shipped back to the UK.
Prior to coming back to the UK it went through a light restoration - pictures before and during the process will be provided. it still has its original sills/ floors!
Once it was delivered to our workshop we inspected the car for any flaws/ road worthiness and had any problems rectified. during this process The wheels were changed for the Dunlop D1 fitted with new tyres, various bits of brightwork were replaced/ polished.
The cylinder head was removed and sent to a local engineering shop to be rebuilt with hardened valve seats so the use of modern fuels doesn't harm the engine, a full service has also been carried out, including the carburettor, the engine does have 20 thou oversize pistons so it has seen a rebuild. the compression and oil pressure is very good, its on its standard 1' 1/4 S.U carburettor and it is one of the liveliest standard minis I have driven. the brakes have been checked/ adjusted - the brake drums/ shoes have seen little use and it would appear they were replaced during its mild restoration. This mini is on its Hydrolastic suspension, we vacuumed the system, inspected the units and refilled it with fresh fluid. A new Clutch slave has been fitted and both the brake and clutch masters have been professionally overhauled.
The drive is very compliant and a compliment to the designer of the suspension system, Alex Moulton.
Overall a fun little taste of the past that will put a smile on your face as soon as you drive away.
Any inspections welcome, strictly by appointment.
